Spring Festival

Spring Concerts
 

The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble presents a Spring Festival, consisting of two concerts. Under the direction of Artistic Director John Winkleman and Associate Director Christian Tordahl, the ensemble will perform a selection of spring favorites at the First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista in March.

In April the group will perform the winning pieces from the 2019 HWE Composition Contest at the Bankers Hill Club. These works will only be performed at the April concert. The winners are:

• 1st place ($500) - Armin Kofler - Carpe Diem

• 2nd place ($250) - Jukka Viitasaari - The Community Band Suite

Free Active Military Admission: Active duty military personnel with ID (limit 1 per ID) will receive free admission to this concert.

Student Rush:  Student Rush tickets for $5.00 (cash only) will be available at the door 15 minutes before the concert start time with a current student ID (applies to all students, including high school students), limit 1 per ID, subject to availability. (For example, if a concert is close to selling out, this discount will NOT be offered.)

Children under the age of 5 will not be admitted to the concert. Parents should use their best judgment when bringing children who are age 5 or older, based on their ability to sit quietly through a 2-hour concert, out of respect to other audience members, and since we record each concert. These children must have a ticket and be able to sit in an unaccompanied seat. We do not have a ticket discount specifically for children.
